XI ENCUENTRO – EUROPEAN MEDICAL STUDENTS’ ORCHESTRA AND CHOIR

El sueño de jóvenes músicos y futuros médicos de toda Europa se materializa en la EMSOC, la Orquesta y Coro Europeo de Estudiantes de Medicina. La ciudad de Granada, al sur de España, acoge en 2019 su undécimo encuentro. Desde 1993 la EMSOC reúne a más de veinticinco países, aglutinando talento e inquietudes de centenares de intérpretes. Músicos que comparten su futuro profesional en la Medicina, que cada año se dan cita en un enclave del continente promoviendo a través de la música valores como la diversidad, la igualdad y una visión abierta del mundo. Los jóvenes se responsabilizan del presente y del futuro, y se unen, con la educación y la cultura como herramientas de transformación social. Con la ilusión y compromiso depositados en dicho encuentro internacional, Granada garantiza su éxito. La EMSOC nace en 2009 de la unión de la Orquesta Europea de Estudiantes de Medicina y el Coro Europeo de Estudiantes de Medicina. Formar parte de la Orquesta y Coro Europeos de Estudiantes de Medicina es una experiencia única. Más de cien músicos estudiantes de Medicina se reúnen anualmente en un país diferente con el objetivo de compartir su pasión por la música y establecer lazos de amistad y colaboración entre futuros médicos de toda Europa. NUESTRA MISIÓN – Educar en diversidad y generar una visión abierta del mundo en el que vivimos. – Divulgar y dar a conocer nuestra cultura y nuestro patrimonio musical. – Divertir al público y divertirnos como músicos. – Aprender de otras formas de pensar, hacer y sentir. – Generar capacidad de reflexión y espíritu crítico. – Intercambiar conocimientos e ideas entre futuros médicos de toda Europa. – Establecer lazos profesionales y personales duraderos y estables entre jóvenes del continente. HISTORIA: 25 AÑOS HACIENDO EUROPA A TRAVÉS DE LA MÚSICA Y LA MEDICINA La Orquesta y el Coro Europeo de Estudiantes de Medicina comenzó su andadura en 2009 cuando la Orquesta Europea de Estudiantes de Medicina (EMSO) y el Coro Europeo de Estudiantes de Medicina (EMSC) se unieron para interpretar una serie espectacular de conciertos en Ljubljana y Piran, Eslovenia. La Orquesta Europea de Estudiantes de Medicina (EMSO) se fundó en Wurzburg, Alemania, en 1993. El Coro Europeo de Estudiantes de Medicina (EMSC) fue fundado en Londres, Inglaterra, en 1996. La orquesta y el coro están formados por estudiantes de Medicina y jóvenes médicos de toda Europa, todos los cuales tienen talento y pasión por la interpretación musical. Cada año, la orquesta y el coro se reúnen en una ciudad europea diferente durante aproximadamente 10 días de ensayos intensivos y actividades sociales, que culminan en varios conciertos fantásticos. Cada edición está organizada por estudiantes de Medicina y médicos jóvenes del país anfitrión. Desde sus orígenes, el proyecto ha crecido en tamaño y popularidad hasta convertirse en una orquesta sinfónica con coro de aproximadamente 120 músicos y cantantes de más de 25 países europeos. The dream of young musicians and future doctors from all over Europe comes true thanks to EMSOC, the European Medical Students’ Orchestra and Choir. The city of Granada, in the South of Spain, host its eleventh meeting in 2019. Since 1993, EMSOC brings together more than twenty five countries, gathering the talent and concerns of hundreds of interpreters. Musicians who share their professional future in Medicine meet every year in an enclave of the continent promoting values ​​such as diversity, equality and an open vision of the world through music. Thanks to the union of the European Orchestra of Medical Students and the European Choir of Medical Students, the European Medical Students’ Orchestra and Choir (EMSOC) was born in 2009. The European Orchestra of Medical Students (EMSO) was founded in Wurzburg, Germany, in 1993. The European Medical Students Choir (EMSC) was founded in London, England, in 1996. The orchestra and the choir are made up of medical students and young doctors from all over Europe, all of whom have a talent and passion for musical interpretation.
