Welcome

Minimax inequalities guarantee the validity of the interchange of the operations “sup” and “inf” for certain two-variable functions. Such results have their roots in game theory and, since their emergence in the seminal work of J. von Neumann, have  attracted increasing attention, due to their many applications not only in game or economic theory, but also in monotone multifunction theory, as well as in convex analysis, mathematical finance or variational principles, to name a few. A related question is the existence of equilibrium problems for a two-variable function. The systematic study of this kind of problem goes back to the influential work of K. Fan and it comprises a wide variety of problems on saddle points, Nash equilibrium, optimization, fixed point theory or variational analysis.

The aim of the I Conference on Minimax Inequalities and Equilibrium Problems is to create a biennial forum to share the most recent ideas and applications on this field. It will be hosted at the ETSIE Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería de Edificación, University of Granada, Spain, and it is organized by the University of Granada in conjunction with the research projects MTM2016-80676-P (AEI/FEDER, UE) and FQM359 (Junta de Andalucía, Spain).

Granada welcomes you to minEquMax 2019.
