About

Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) and Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs) are new types of porous materials based on self-Assembly of organic-inorganic (MOFs) and organic-organic (COFs) prearranged synthons. The variety of synthons, as well as synthetic conditions (and/or postsynthetic modifications) can lead to the production of porous materials a la carte with adsorbent and/or catalytic properties that exceed in many aspects to classical porous materials. This field of research is moving very fast evolving from the initial interest on the synthesis and characterization of these systems to the formation of advanced composite materials of MOFs and COFs with different substrates (including graphene, metal surfaces, nanoparticles) leading to exciting properties of interest to technology sector transfer. This symposium aims to give an overview of the current state of the art in the field of formation, properties, application and future prospect of hierarchical composites of MOFs and COFs.

The main objective of this meeting will be to exchange ideas and results regarding the synthesis, characterization and properties of potential practical applications of composite multifunctional materials based on MOFs and COFs.

There will be limited number of attendees <100 which will facilitate the mixing of the different researchers and exchange of ideas for future colaborations.
