Modes of participation

The Call for Proposals (papers, posters, panel discussions, audiovisual materials, or live performance) is now open. Proposals should be sent by email to congresocantejondo@go.ugr.es and must include all of the following:

  • Name of the author(s) of the proposal and their institution(s)
  • Full contact details
  • Title of the proposed input
  • Nature of the proposed input
  • The specific research themes (as defined for this conference) to which the proposal pertains
  • 300-word (approx.) summary of the proposal
  • 3–5 keywords
  • Indication of technical requirements

Proposals must be submitted by December 31, 2021.
Proposals may be written in Spanish, English, or French.
The Scientific Committee will make its assessment and will communicate its decision to authors by February 28, 2022 at the latest.
Proposals involving thematic panel discussions are also acceptable. These would bring together the content of three or four papers with a shared theme. In this case, the proposal should be presented by a single coordinator and include the title of the panel and an overview of the content (summarizing the content of all inputs in a maximum total of 500 words). Please provide the names of all participants and the titles of their respective inputs.
Please take care to ensure that the summaries are well written and in an appropriate style, with no spelling errors and correct technical vocabulary. As the proposals for the different modes of participation will be evaluated anonymously, summaries must not contain any data that would identify the author(s). Any proposals that fail to adhere to this requirement will automatically be eliminated.

Participation modalities

  1. Oral input (please indicate three of the specific research themes defined for this Call for Proposals that you would be interested in addressing, in order of preference)
    • Must be based on original, unpublished research.
    • Presentation time: 15–20 minutes.
  2. Panel discussion
    • Each panel member will present their own paper dealing with the shared theme chosen by the group, which will be approached from different perspectives and must be related to one of the research themes of the conference.
    • Panel discussions may be proposed by groups comprising independent researchers.
    • The summaries of the different inputs to the panel must be sent by a single coordinator, who can also act as the panel moderator.
    • Presentation time: to be agreed (4–6 inputs per panel, 15–20 minutes per input)
  3. Presentation/recital
    • Presentation of an artistic production (live or in audio-visual format) that must explicitly derive from the author’s own academic research and be linked to one of the research themes defined for this conference. This may include live performance with commentary (here, preference will be given to those proposals that involve little-known historical repertoires).
    • Presentation time: 20 minutes (we recommend that the time be split evenly between recital and commentary).
  4. Audio-visual format
    • Video-essays with a narrative and/or performative element or proposals of an experimental or documentary nature, accompanied by a textual presentation. The contribution should provide a critical vision of one of the research themes defined for this conference.
    • Presentation time: 15–20 minutes in total.
