Selection criteria for the 10 AIDA Grants for Young Researchers

The Executive Board of AIDA will award ten Grants for Young Researchers, each amounting to €250, for covering some of the expenses of attending AIDA 14, which will be held at the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting, University of Granada, Spain, on 28 June1 July, 2022.

Candidates can only apply for a grant after receiving the acceptance notification for their abstracts from the Organizing Committee of AIDA 14.

The applicants will be selected taking into consideration the following:

  1. The applicant should be enrolled in a Master or PhD programme with a project in Arabic Dialectology.
  2. The average income per capita of their country of residence, priority being given to the lowest.
  3. Age: maximum 35 years old, priority being given to the youngest.
  4. The priority is given to any applicant who has not received a grant before. If the number of applicants in this category is less than the number of grants, the Executive Board will take into consideration applicants who have received a grant before, with the condition that they have published the paper presented at the AIDA Conference in its Proceedings or in a peer reviewed journal.
  5. The grant request will be addressed to the General Secretary of AIDA, Dr Liesbeth Zack  e.w.a.zack@uva.nl using the Application Form.
  6. The grants will be paid out in cash at AIDA 14 by AIDA’s treasurer Dr Veronika RittBenmimoun.
